‘Cats Fall in Closing Seconds at Valpo to Conclude 2024 Campaign

VALPARAISO, Ind. — Valparaiso scored on a last-second, up-for-grab touchdown pass as time expired and converted its two-point try to rally past Davidson 18-17 Saturday on Brown Field.
The Beacons' game-winning sequence came following an errant Wildcat punt on fourth down with just eight seconds left.
Running back Mason Sheron ran 15 times for 110 yards with Mari Adams adding 94 on the ground and a touchdown. Adam Zouagui's 39-yard field goal with 7:46 left gave the Wildcats the 17-10 lead they held until Valpo's Caron Tyler found Gary Givens on a 17-yard touchdown pass as time expired. Tyler then hit Jake Vickers for the winning two-point conversion pass.
Amare Hill and John Tessman had six tackles each while senior Julian Rawlins added three tackles, a sack and a tackle for less.
Davidson concludes the 2024 campaign 6-5 overall and 4-4 in PFL play.
