Wildcats Drop Road Game at App State

BOONE — Davidson's Emelia Little scored a career-best two goals, but Appalachian State proved too much in a 7-3 field hockey defeat of the Wildcats Sunday afternoon.
Little got the Wildcats on the board late in the second quarter, as the Mountaineers built a 3-1 lead by the break.
Her second goal, off a Hallie Slidell assist, pulled the Wildcats within 3-2 in the third.
The Wildcats (1-3) also got within a goal later in the third when Eva van der Kooi scored on an assist from Sib Naaktgeboren.
Lise Boekarr scored four goals to lead the Mountaineers (3-0).
