Hot-Shooting ‘Cats Run by Washington State, 85-69

DAVIDSON, N.C. – In addition to five players in double figures, Davidson torched the nets for 57.1 percent and canned 12-of-24 3-pointers en route to an 85-69 victory over Washington State Friday evening inside John M. Belk Arena.
Hunter Adam led the Wildcats with 14 points, Sam Brown had 12, Devin Brown chipped in 11, while Robert Blums and Parker Friedrichsen had 10 each.
Along with holding the Cougars to 40 percent from the floor, including just 6-of-21 from deep, Davidson got five blocks from Sean Logan.
Behind seven straight points from Sam Brown, Davidson stormed out of the gates to a 9-0 advantage, which ballooned to as many as 22 with just under five minutes left in the half.
The Wildcats would lead 40-24 at the break while shooting 65.2 percent in the period.
After the Cougars cut the deficit to 49-36 early in the second half, Davidson responded with triples from Friedrichsen and Devin Brown sparking a 15-5 spurt and taking its largest lead of the night, 64-41.
Emmanuel Ugbo was the lone Cougar to crack the 10-point plateau with a game-high 16 points.
The Wildcats, who assisted on 18 of their 28 field goals also finished 17-of-21 from the charity stripe.
