PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Parker Friedrichsen scored a team-high 16 points and an 18-2 first-half run proved decisive as the Davidson men's basketball team notched a 67-56 Atlantic 10 Conference win at Duquesne Wednesday night.
With the victory, the Wildcats improved to 17-11 overall and 8-7 in the A-10 and earned a season split in with the Dukes, who won a Dec. 30 double-overtime game in Belk Arena.
Trailing 13-11 early, Davidson scored 18 of the game's next 20 points — including five apiece from Friedrichsen and Hunter Adam — to lead 29-15 with 4:35 left in the first half. The Wildcats led 35-21 at the intermission and for double digits most of the second half, though the Dukes twice cut it to eight in the final minutes.
Devin Brown added 11 points, and the Wildcats finished with a 42-33 rebounding advantage, including a game-high 10 from Roberts Blums.
Davidson held the Dukes to 35.6 percent shooting from the field (21-of-59).
Tarence Guinyard scored a game-high 20 to lead Duquesne (16-12), which fell to 8-7 in the league.
