Davidson Travels to Charlotte in Battle for the Hornets' Nest

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Fresh off a win against Washington State, the Davidson men's basketball team is set for its first road test of the season against the Charlotte 49ers inside Halton Arena on Tuesday night.

BATTLE FOR THE HORNETS' NEST
Davidson and Charlotte collide for the 52nd time on Tuesday night. The 49ers own the overall series 31-20. The Wildcats have won three of the last four matchups. The 'Cats won 75-71 in the most recent contest on Dec. 10, 2024. Davidson shot 49% from the floor and only committed six turnovers.
The last three battles between the 49ers and Wildcats have each been decided by four points or less.
LAST TIME OUT
Davidson took down Washington State 85-69 last Friday night at home. The Wildcats led the entire game. Hunter Adam, Parker Friedrichsen, Sam Brown, Devin Brown, and Roberts Blums all scored in double figures. This is the first time since Nov. 6, 2023 that Davidson has had five scholar-athletes score 10 or more points in a game.
The 'Cats shot 65% from the floor in the first half (15-for-23). It's their highest field goal percentage in a half since a road contest against Rhode Island on January 18, 2025.
The team was 12-for-24 from downtown in the entire game.
Sean Logan recorded five blocks in the game. This is the fifth time the senior has logged five rejections in a game through his career. Logan ranks ninth in program history with 94 career blocks.
SEASON OPENER
Davidson opened the season with a 97-63 win over DeSales on Monday, Nov. 3. Hunter Adam scored a career-high 18 points and made a career-high five threes. RJ Greer, Devin Brown, and Nick Coval played in their first college game. The trio combined for 28 points and was 13-14 from the free throw line.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN
The Wildcats have eight newcomers on this year's roster. The transfers are Sam Brown (Penn), Josh Scovens (Army), JQ Roberts (Vanderbilt), and Parker Friedrichsen (Wake Forest). The current freshman class features RJ Greer (Dad is Associate HC at Dayton), Devin Brown (2025 High School State Champion), and Ian Platteeuw (2025 U18 EuroBasket MVP for Spain). John Nowland is the eighth newcomer and was previously a student manager with the team.
The 'Cats return eight scholar-athletes. Davidson brings back only 16 percent of its scoring offense (383 out of 2,393 points).
