DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's basketball team will look to return to its winning ways when it hosts Saint Joesph's 7 p.m. Wednesday inside Belk Arena.

SERIES HISTORY...
The Hawks arrive at Belk Arena with an 11-1 lead over the Wildcats in the all-time series, currently having one the last five meetings between the two teams. 

Davidson was defeated on the road on Jan. 27, 2024, falling 68-42 at Saint Joseph's on the road in Philadelphia. 

Charlise Dunn had an efficient day from the floor, scoring 16 points on a 7-of-14 showing with two three's, two steals and a pair of blocks. Issy Morgan joined Dunn in double figures scoring 10 points while Millie Prior brought in eight rebounds.

Despite a fourth-quarter rally, a double-digit deficit proved too much for the Davidson women's basketball team to overcome Sunday in a 60-51 home loss to Saint Louis.

Donovan led the Wildcats with 16 points, while Haines finished with nine, and Dunn had 10 rebounds to go with seven points.

THE WILDCAT REPORT...
Charlise Dunn has settled right back into her scoring role from a season ago, ranking first on the team in points with 12.1 per contest in addition to grabbing 1.1 steals per game.

Donovan has found continued comfort in a hybrid guard/forward position, allotting for her presence more in the paint as she is third for Davidson on defense with 4.7 rpg in addition to ranking second on the team in scoring with 10.4 ppg. Having seen time in all 20 games this year, Lienafa is among the leaders of the Davidson offense with a stifling .570 FG% (third within the Atlantic 10), .406 3PT% and 20.8 minutes per game.

Prior continues to be a force on the defensive end of the floor pacing the Wildcats with 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.

DAVIDSON FROM DISTANCE...
This season alone, the 'Cats have drained 10+ treys in six games while shooting .356 from beyond the arc in eight A-10 contests with a season high .583 (14-24) against Saint Louis early this month. 

For their efforts, Davidson currently ranks 33st among all Division I institutions in 3-point percentage at .356. In eight conference games alone, the 'Cats are connecting on .380 percent from 3-point range with Haines shooting an efficient .531 in league action.

Overall Haines, (32), Dunn (29) and Bruyndoncx (28) have all hit the 20 made 3-pointers plateau. Haines leads the charge with a.471 average followed by Bruyndoncx (.378) and then Dunn (.345).

SHUTTING DOWN THE DEEP THREAT...
Ranking seventh in the nation and first in the Atlantic 10 in opponent 3-point percentage at just .241, the Wildcats have continued to defend the arc well through 20 contests. So far this season, Davidson has surrendered just 64 total made 3-pointers, allowing its opponents to hit more than six triples only one time this season. The 'Cats have held its competitors to no made 3-pointers on three occasions this season (0-6 Presbyterian, 0-3 Charlotte, 0-8 George Mason).

Saint Joseph's has enjoyed a four-game winning streak after most recently defeating La Salle 76-52 inside Michael J. Hagan Arena Jan. 25. Before its most recent triumph the Hawks started their streak beating Fordham, UMass and St. Bonaventure. 

The Hawks currently have three players who average in double figures, led by Laura Ziegler who averages a double-double of 17.3 ppg and 11.9 rpg to go along with a roster-high 4.5 apg. Following is Mackenzie Smith who tallies 16.1 ppg and Talya Brugler with 14.1 ppg. Brugler is also Saint Joseph's most efficient shooter at .551 percent from the field and .813 at the charity stripe. 

As a team, Saint Joseph's is averaging 73.0 points and 38.2 rebounds per game while shooting .457 from the field, .371 from 3-point range and .768 from the charity stripe. The Hawks have distributed the ball well dishing out 18.3 assists per game in addition to forcing its opponents into 14.7 miscues per contest.
