'Cats Return Home for Second Meeting with Saint Louis

DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's basketball team will look to complete the regular season sweep of Saint Louis when it hosts the Billikens inside John M. Belk Arena 11 a.m. Sunday in a nationally televised (CBSSN) Atlantic 10 contest.

SERIES HISTORY...
The Wildcats will look to pull even in the all-time series with the Billikens who currently hold a 7-6 lead over a decade of match ups. Earlier this month, Davidson torched the nets from 3-point range, tying a program-best 14 made 3-pointers, in part of a dominant 94-53 victory over Midwest Atlantic 10 opponent Saint Louis Jan. 5. 

In their highest scoring output on the road since a 93-point showing at Winthrop Dec. 30, 1996, the Wildcats extend their at the time winning streak to five. 

For the second consecutive game, the 'Cats had at least five players in double figures in Issy Morgan (20), Katie Donovan (16), Kyra Bruyndoncx (12), Candice Lienafa (12), and Mallorie Haines (11). 

Bruyndoncx (4-of-4), Haines (2-of-2), Morgan (1-of-1), Donovan (3-of-4) and Charlise Dunn (1-of-2) all combined to pace Davidson to 11 made 3-pointers over the first half alone for a stifling .846 two-quarter percentage.

LAST TIME OUT...
Despite a career-high 32 points from Charlise Dunn, Davidson fell on the road to George Mason, 81-73, in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Jan. 22 inside EagleBank Arena.

A junior from Victoria, Australia, Dunn scored 20 of her 28 second-half points in the third quarter, while finishing 11-of-23 from the floor, including six of the Wildcats' 10 3-pointers.

Kyra Bruyndoncx also scored in double figures for Davidson with 13 points in 34 minutes.

The Wildcats torched the nets for 78.6 percent in the third quarter, highlighted by Dunn's 8-of-10 effort and four triples.

DAVIDSON FROM DEEP...
For the second time this season, the Wildcats tied a program-best 14 made 3-pointers in a single game, going 14-30 against the Bonnies a week ago. This season alone, the 'Cats have drained 10+ treys in six games while shooting .387 from beyond the arc in seven A-10 contests with a season high .538 (14-24) against Saint Louis early this month. 

For their efforts, Davidson currently ranks 31st among all Division I institutions in 3-point percentage at .357 (148-414). In seven conference games alone, the 'Cats are connecting on .387 percent from 3-point range with Haines shooting an efficient .538 in league action.

Overall Haines, (29), Dunn (28) and Bruyndoncx (27) have all hit the 20 made 3-pointers plateau. Haines leads the charge with a.468 average followed by Bruyndoncx (.370) and then Dunn (.354).

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS...
Davidson has been at its best this season when playing in the confines of John M. Belk Arena, currently sitting at an impressive 7-1 home record. 

All told, the 'Cats are outscoring its opponents by an outstanding +117 margin including a +14.6 margin per game. The Wildcats are scoring .459 percent from the field, .368 percent beyond the arc and .705 percent at the charity stripe on Bob McKillop court this season. 

Morgan (11.6 ppg) and Donovan (11.0) pace the offense while Donovan (5.5 rpg) and Prior (4.6 rpg) lead the defense on their home court. 

Haines (14) and Bruyndoncx (11) have torched the nets from distance in Belk accounting for .438 percent of Davidson's made 3-pointers at home this season. 

SHE'S NOT DUNN YET...
In an impressive comeback season, Dunn, in 14 games has made her way to the top of the Wildcats scoring efforts with a roster-best 12.5 points to go along with 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. The junior guard has connected on .407 percent of her shots this season as well. 

SHUTTING DOWN THE DEEP THREAT...
Ranking ninth in the nation and first in the Atlantic 10 in opponent 3-point percentage at just .244, the Wildcats have continued to defend the arc well through 19 contests. So far this season, Davidson has surrendered just 62 total made 3-pointers, allowing its opponents to hit more than six triples only one time this season. The 'Cats have held its competitors to no made 3-pointers on three occasions this season (0-6 Presbyterian, 0-3 Charlotte, 0-8 George Mason).

The Billikens are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after most recently falling 87-76 on the road at Dayton Wednesday. 

The Billikens scoring efforts are led by a trio of players in Peyton Kennedy (14.4), Brooklyn Gray (12.4), Kennedy Calhoun (11.0). On the defensive end of the court, Tierra Simon tallies a roster-high 10.3 rebounds per game while nearly missing out on averaging a double-double with 7.3 points per contest. 

As a team, Saint Louis averages 79.5 points and 38.3 rebounds per game with shooting percentages of .391 from the field, .251 from 3-point and .818 at the foul line. Defensively, the Billikens have used 10.1 steals to force their competitors into 16.7 miscues per game.
