Davidson Falls to Richmond

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a career-high 37-point effort, Maggie Doogan scored a game-high 26 points to lead Richmond past Davidson, 63-41, in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Sunday afternoon inside John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats, who entered winners of six straight, fall to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in league play.
Issy Morgan led the way for Davidson with nine points.
Richmond (13-5, 4-1 A-10), which entered as one of the nation's most efficient teams on the offensive end of the floor, shot 44.0 percent, including 6-of-13 from deep, while holding the 'Cats to just 27.3 percent.
After a back and forth start, Richmond used a 10-2 stretch late in the opening quarter to go in front for good. The Spiders would carry their momentum into the second limiting the 'Cats to just one field goal outscoring them 17-4 while going into the half up 38-20.
Rachel Ullstrom also scored in double figures for the Spiders with 17 points.

Davidson will play its next two on the road beginning with a 1 p.m. tip Saturday at St. Bonaventure.
