Davidson's Defense Holds Firm in Draw With Campbell

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson College men's soccer team battled the Campbell Camels to a scoreless draw in a defensive showdown at Alumni Stadium on Monday night.
Neither team was able to find paydirt behind physical play throughout the contest. The two teams combined for 29 fouls and eight yellow cards on the night.
Davidson did have a few scoring chances, including a slow-rolling shot by Patrick Ward towards an empty net in the 34th minute. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the ball rolled just to the left of the post.
In the 71st minute, the 'Cats had a prime opportunity when Denis Krioutchenkov was fouled just outside the top left corner of the 18-yard box, setting up a free kick. Krioutchenkov stepped up for the approach, but his shot attempt was blocked.
Baylen Young, Alonzo Clarke, Ayman Maadir, and Noah Louzan also had shot attempts for the Wildcats.

Davidson will be back at home on Friday night when it takes on regional non-conference opponent UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m.
