Hummel Earns A-10 Defensive Honor

WASHINGTON — Davidson libero Jordan Hummel has been named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
The junior from North Tonawanda, N.Y., most recently helped the Wildcats earn a weekend sweep of Fordham and improve to 13-12 overall and 9-5 in league play.
Hummel posted 5.67 digs per set, totaled 34 digs, dished six assists and served two aces while Davidson earned consecutive 3-0 home victories over the Rams. She currently leads the A-10 with 466 total digs and 4.44 digs/set.
Hummel is the third Wildcat to earn a weekly honor this season. Melanie Tilles and Kinsey Smith were named A-10 Defensive and A-10 Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Oct. 21.
Hummel and the Wildcats will visit league leader Dayton Nov. 8-9.
