
Davidson Drops Match Against Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Meile Songaila and Anna Withee combined for 14 kills, but Davidson ultimately fell to Wake Forest in straight sets on Friday night. Despite a .188 hitting percentage in the entire match, the Wildcats finished strong with a .314 hitting percentage in the final set.
Davidson dropped the opening set 25-20. Songaila had four kills and sparked the Wildcats during this frame. Jackie Bardin recorded her first five kills of the season in the second and third set. Bardin was very efficient with a .400 hitting percentage on 10 attempts. Ylame Dsamou led the team with 15 assists across three sets.
The Wildcats resume action at the Wake Forest Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against Maryland. This will be the first ever meeting between the two volleyball programs. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wake Forest's campus.
