ATHENS, Ohio — Matilda Collins' game-tying goal put the Davidson field hockey team in position Sunday afternoon, but the host Ohio Bobcats scored late and emerged with a 2-1 win in non-conference play.
With the loss, the Wildcats exit the weekend 7-7 overall with one game remaining on the schedule.
Collins' goal, off a Macy Curtis assist, came 3:22 into the third quarter and evened the match at 1-1 after Ohio's Addy Basile struck 31 seconds before the half. It was Collins' third goal of the year.
Ohio's game-winner came with 10 minutes to play on an unassisted goal by Anouk Plaehn.
The Bobcats (6-10) finished with a 13-9 shots advantage, including 7-4 in shots-on-goal. Davidson finished with an 8-6 edge in penalty corners.

The Wildcats will wrap up the season next Friday, Nov. 1 when they visit Atlantic 10 foe UMass.
