Wildcats Swept at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Davidson women's tennis team continued their road trip at the University of North Florida on Tuesday and were swept, 7-0.
The Ospreys grabbed the early lead by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches. In singles, the home team won all six matches despite valiant efforts from Savanna Kollock and Linden Patterson. Kollock dropped a heartbreaker in the No. 4 spot after she won the opening set, 6-2. The second set went to a tie break after the score was tied 6-6, and North Florida's Ana Paulo Melilo was able to outlast Kollock, 12-10, to tie the match. The marathon continued as Melilo took the third set 1-0 by winning the tiebreaker, 10-6.
Linden Patterson was tied 6-6 with her opponent in the opening set of the No. 6 singles match but fell 7-0 during the tiebreak. She then dropped the second set, 6-0.
The women's tennis team will end their three-match road trip this Saturday at Elon. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
