'Cats Look for Fifth Straight Win Saturday vs. Longwood

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Winners of four straight games, the Davidson women's basketball team will look to make it five when Big South opponent Longwood visits John M. Belk Arena at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY...
The Wildcats are 3-0 against the Lancers in the all-time series dating back to the 2004-05 season. Davidson has earned two wins on the road and one on its home court against Longwood. The two teams most recently played on Jan. 28, 2011 when the 'Cats won 63-53 in Farmville, Va. 

Ashley Lax (19), Katrin Chiemeka (12) and Sophia Aleksandravicius (11) all ended the contest in double-figures for the Wildcats.

LAST TIME OUT...
Suzi-Rose Deegan scored a season- and game-high 21 points and Millie Prior added a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead Davidson past App State 64-41 in non-conference women's basketball action Wednesday night inside Belk Arena.

Charlise Dunn also added double figures for Davidson with 16, while Issy Morgan finished with 7 points, 8 boards and 7 assists.

AMONG THE NATION'S LEADERS...
With back-to-back double-double performances under her name and a dominant defensive presence, Prior has made her mark and not only within the conference. She is currently ranked 23rd in total blocks (15) and 26th in blocks per game (2.1) among all Division I institutions. 

AROUND THE ATLANTIC 10...
As a team, the Wildcats continue to be among the conference leaders in multiple categories.

• Davidson is third in 3-pointers per game (7.3) and turnover margin (+3.1). 
• The 'Cats are fourth in field goal percentage (43.7), free throw percentage (75.4) and scoring margin +15.7. 
• Davidson is fifth in scoring (69.9) blocks per game (4.1), steals per game (8.9) and 3-point percentage (33.3). 

Individually, five different Wildcats are within the A-10's top 10 in at least one category.

COMMANDING 'CATS
When comparing the Wildcats to their competition this season, Davidson has tallied some big margins, such as a +110 margin in scoring on the year, a +34 margin in points off of turnovers, a +29 margin in second-chance points and a +18 margin in fastbreak points. 

The Wildcats' competitive defense has also made them the fifth-best team in the league in opponent scoring, as they allow just 54.1 points per game. 

WILDCAT ROSTER... 
Davidson enters the weekend with four players averaging double-figure points in Dunn (14.3), Sutphin (13.8), Deegan (13.0) and Prior (10.3). Morgan is just on the verge of double-digits with 9.3 points per game.  

Prior paces the 'Cats on the boards with 7.0 rpg, followed by Dunn with 6.6. 

Morgan continues to shoot the ball efficiently from all areas of the court as she has team-highs of .564 from the floor, .500 from 3-point range and .875 from the charity stripe.

LAST TIME OUT...
The Lancers picked up their second victory of the season in a 75-72 win over Ohio Wednesday on the road. 

A LOOK AT THE LANCERS...
As a team, Longwood averages 66.5 points and 39.0 rebound per game while shooting 37.5 from the floor, 33.7 from beyond the arc and 70.1 at the free throw line. Additionally, the Lancers make 12.5 steals per game while forcing their opponents into 20.0 turnovers per contest. 

Janay Turner heads the offensive charge for Longwood, having tallied 13.2 points per game while adding 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals to her per-game averages. Turner shoots 44.4 from the floor, 45.5 from 3-point range and 77.8 from the charity stripe. Leading the Lancers on the boards is Otaifo Esenabhalu with 6.7 rebounds per game including 2.0 offensive.
