‘Cats Score Late to Earn Conference Draw

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Davidson, which trailed for much of the contest, finally broke through with a Lucas Hauth equalizer in the 84th minute to earn a 1-1 (2OT) draw at George Washington Saturday.
The Wildcats, who controlled the shot column for the fifth time in six outings, are now 1-3-2 overall and 0-1-2 in league play. GW also picks up a point in the A-10 standings, moving to 1-1-2 and 0-0-2.
Hauth, who led the 'Cats with three shots, netted his third goal of season late in regulation off a half volley to force overtime. Freshman Connor Smith provided the assist on Hauth's 10th career strike.
The Colonials grabbed the first lead of the day at the 21:01 mark when Tom Cookin and Tim Neuman set up Sandro Weber.
In addition to finishing with a 15-10 advantage in shots, Davidson held a 10-3 margin in corner kicks.
Justin Grady led both keepers with four stops, while Giacomo Piccardo stopped one attempt for the Wildcats.
