Reigning A-10 Champions Knock Off 'Cats

RICHMOND, Va. — VCU scored two goals in the first 8:46 and never looked back in a 5-0 win over Davidson in Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Wildcats are now 2-9 overall.
Carolina Mujica scored two goals to lead the Rams, who won their first A-10 championship in the spring.
The Wildcats' best offensive opportunity came late in the second half, when a corner led to Anna Sharp's shot-on-goal. But VCU's Cailin Bownas was there to save it and preserve the shutout.

Davidson has a quick turnaround, as it will visit Longwood at 12 p.m. Sunday.
