Field Hockey Battles in Loss at Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va. — The Davidson field hockey team created some scoring chances Sunday afternoon, but was unable to light up the scoreboard in a 4-0 non-conference loss at Longwood.
The Wildcats tallied eight shots, including five shots-on-goal. Natalie Naticchia led the way with two shots-on-goal, while shots from Izzy Moody, Charlie Kabelac and Evie Lake also required saves. Additionally, a third-period shot by Bella Worthington hit the post, as did a fourth-quarter shot by Julia Smith.
Longwood's Sophia Loscher scored with 15 seconds left in the first quarter to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead. Her fourth-quarter goal completed the scoring.
Up Next
Davidson will host two home games next weekend, beginning with A-10 foe La Salle on Friday, Oct. 15. Non-conference opponent Wake Forest visits two days later.
