La Salle Pulls Away From Field Hockey Late

DAVIDSON — Davidson played La Salle even for three-plus quarters Friday night at Belk Turf Field before the Explorers pulled away for a 4-2 Atlantic 10 field hockey victory.
The Wildcats and Explorers played to a 1-1 draw through 30 minutes and were tied 2-2 entering the fourth quarter after Izzy Moody's goal 6:25 into the third evened the score. Her third goal of the year came when she followed up a deflection after inserting the penalty corner.
Evie Lake had the first Davidson goal, tying the scored at 1-1. She also scored off a corner, with her goal coming with 1:37 left in the first half.
Tatum Johnson, one of the A-10's top scorers, scored 4:07 into the match and also had the eventual game-winner, which broke the 2-2 tie in the fourth quarter. Paige Doyle scored the Explorers' other two goals.

The Wildcats will host No. 15 Wake Forest at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Demon Deacons fell to North Carolina 1-0 on Friday.
