THE SERIES
Davidson snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Dolphins last October at Richardson Stadium, 44-37, but still trail in the series, 7-14. The two have squared off every season since the first meeting in 1998. The 'Cats are 2-9 in Jacksonville and have not left with a win since 2007, a 20-10 showing in the Sunshine State.
LAST TIME OUT
Davidson (4-2, 1-1 PFL) fell to San Diego at Richardson Stadium last Saturday, 37-17. Junior running back Wesley Dugger rushed for a pair of touchdowns as Davidson and San Diego went into the half tied at 17. Freshman kicker Caden Bonoffski hit a season-long 43-yard field goal to open the Wildcat scoring account at 3-0. Senior linebacker George Hatlowich made a season-best nine tackles in the losing effort.
SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
Jacksonville (2-4, 0-2 PFL) are still seeking their first PFL win of the season following losses to Dayton and Morehead State. The Dolphins two wins came over future PFL member Presbyterian and Ave Maria. Junior quarterback Calvin Turner Jr. leads the league in rushing (114.7 YPG) and has rushed for nine scores. Like Dugger, Turner Jr. has a four-touchdown game this season, rushing for four against Dayton to open PFL play. Jeremiah Johnson leads the squad in tackles (44) and has forced three fumbles and picked off a pass.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Davidson raced out to a 44-9 lead and survived a fourth quarter Dolphin rally to win at Richardson Stadium, 44-37. Jorell Story scored three times, while JU quarterback calvin Turner Jr. rushed for three in the final frame to cut into the Wildcat advantage. Rayshawn McCall ran back a point after attempt for three points, while Jacksonville natives, Keylan Brown and Pat Tabor each tallied third quarter TDs in the winning effort. Linebacker George Hatalowich registered a career-best 13 tackles, 8 solo stops, and a sack to pace the Davidson defense.
