DAVIDSON, N.C. --
Davidson field hockey returns to Belk Turf Field for a two-game tilt this weekend, welcoming league foe La Salle on Friday at 5:30 before facing Ohio at noon on Sunday.

Fans can follow live stats for both contests via the link provided above, and can watch Friday's game via the video streaming link. There will be no video available for Sunday's game.

NATIONALLY NOTEWORTHY
The Wildcats rank in the Top 20 in the country in saves per game with 7.00. That statistic puts Davidson at 19th in the NCAA and second in the league, sitting behind Richmond's 10.43. Sophomore Sarah Zeszotarski ranks 25th in the nation with 6.20 saves per game. On the season, Zeszotarski has 31 saves on the season, and she and junior Bean Rodriguez have combined for 46 on the year, second-most in the league.

The 'Cats are also 19th in the country in defensive saves with four, as Courtney Byler leads the way with two. Senior duo Morgan French, and Lauren Gampper have each also logged one this season. Byler is tied for first in the league.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
La Salle enters the weekend with a 4-2 overall record, with a 1-1 ledger in Atlantic 10 play. The Explorers have seven different players with one goal each this season. Friday will be just the second road game for La Salle this season. Their first was a 1-0 victory at Lehigh in Bethleham, Pa., earlier this month. Their most recent contest was a 2-0 win against Saint Louis, where junior Megan Kida and freshman Amber Blackshear each collected their first goals of the season in the team's first league victory of 2017.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio has just one win on the season, but has two Bobcats with multiple goals this season. The team is led by junior back Kendall Ballard, who has five goals on the season and leads the team with 18 shots. Junior Alex Pennington mans the cage for the Bobcats, logging 33 saves on the season.

THE LAST MEETINGS
Last year, Davidson dropped a 2-1 decision after a short-lived equalizer from now-graduate Katherine English. The Explorers were limited to five shots, but attacked early scoring just 50 seconds into the contest. After being tied up at 1-1, La Salle was awarded four corners within the last 10 minutes of the contest and took advantage of two Davidson yellow cards to net the gamewinner.

Davidson and Ohio have not met since the 2006 season, where the 'Cats dropped a nailbiter 1-0 at home. The two teams however do share five common opponents this season: Saint Louis, VCU, Miami (Ohio), Appalachian State, and Longwood. The Bobcats defeated SLU for their lone win this season in a 6-1 decision,  while falling 3-1 and 2-1 to VCU and 3-0 to Miami (Ohio). Davidson has already faced App. State and Longwood, falling 2-0 and 2-1.
