RICHMOND, Va. – Mo Alie-Cox recorded 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead VCU to a 70-60 victory over Davidson in Atlantic 10 men's basketball Wednesday evening at the Siegel Center.

The Rams finished the game shooting 50.9 percent, while holding the Wildcats to just 37.9 percent.

Jack Gibbs paced Davidson (17-11, 9-8 A-10) with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in 38 minutes of action, while Peyton Aldridge added 15 points.

Melvin Johnson and Justin Tillman also scored double figures for the Rams with 16 and 11, respectively.

VCU (22-8, 14-3 A-10) raced out to an 8-0 advantage and led by as many as 13 in the opening period before going to the half up, 34-23.

The Wildcats scored eight unanswered to cut the deficit to 56-51, with 4:44 to play, but that's as closed as they would get the rest of the way.

In addition to 46 points in the paint, VCU held a 36-28 advantage on the glass.

Despite the loss, Davidson finished 10-for-10 at the charity stripe.
