No. 3E Field Hockey to Face No.2W UC Davis at NorPac Tournament

FARMVILLE, Va. – After finishing the regular season 8-11 overall and 5-3 in conference action, the Davidson field hockey team has claimed the No. 3 seed in the East and is set to face off against the West's No. 2 seed UC Davis in the first round of the NorPac tournament at Longwood University on Thursday. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
Liberty claimed the top seed in the East division, with Stanford taking the honors in the West. Longwood will enter the tournament as the East's No. 2 seed, with Radford in as the fourth seed. In the West, California claimed the No. 3 seed followed by Pacific in fourth.
The Wildcats are also slated to play on Friday depending on the outcome of Thursday's contest. A win would put them in the 1:30 p.m. game vs. the winner of the Liberty/Pacific game, while a loss would slate them for an 11 a.m. contest vs. the loser of the Liberty/Pacific game.
Thursday will mark the fourth all-time game between the Wildcats and the Aggies and the third time the two have met in the NorPac tournament. Last season, Davidson took a 4-1 win over UC Davis in the first round of the tournament. The 'Cats also defeated the Aggies 2-1 in overtime in 2009's tournament.
