Wildcats Play Final Road PFL Game of the Season at Marist

Today's Game
• Davidson plays its final road conference game of the season as the Wildcats travel to Marist.
• It will be the Wildcats' first trip to Marist. Both meetings between the two teams have come in Richardson Stadium.
• The Wildcats are 5-10 in their last 15 road games, dating back to 2008.
• Davidson is 10-16 all-time in league games on the road, including 5-9 in its last 14.
• Davidson is 17-19 in its last 36 PFL contests and owns a 23-27 all-time PFL record.
• The 'Cats are coming off a 37-13 home loss to Dayton last Saturday.
• Marist is 2-2 in its last four and is coming off a 42-14 victory at Campbell last Saturday.
• Davidson was picked seventh in the Pioneer Football League, while Marist was picked sixth.
Series Record
• The Red Foxes have won both meetings against Davidson with both games coming at Richardson Stadium in each of the last two years.
• The Davidson defense tallied three interceptions and blocked a field goal, but Marist was able to keep Davidson out of the end zone and win 14-6 last season.
• Marist quarterback Chris Debowski led the Red Foxes on offense, rushing 15 times for 153 yards and completing 7-of-18 passes for 94 yards. Marist totaled 276 yards rushing.
• Tyler Lemons, Patrick Hunt and John Harrington were each able to intercept a Debowski pass, but the 'Cats were unable to turn the turnovers into touchdowns.
• The 'Cats scored two field goals in the first half, but allowed a Marist touchdown in the second quarter. Neither team scored in the third quarter, and a nearly seven-minute Marist scoring drive allowed the 'Cats just one offensive possession in the fourth quarter.
• Peter Kidwell posted a team-high 11 tackles and one pass breakup, while Lemons had nine stops to go along with his interception.
• Marist posted a 24-19 victory in the first meeting between the schools in 2008.
• Marist running back Bo Ehikioya rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns, and the Red Foxes held off a late-game rally by Davidson.
• With his team trailing by 12 points, Kirk Konert caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Alexander with 1:07 left on the clock. The Wildcats went for the onside kick but were whistled for touching the ball before it went 10 yards, and Marist ran out the clock to ice the game.
• Alexander completed 22-of-37 passes for 189 yards and two TDs.
• Konert finished the day with 40 yards on three receptions, and Myles Potter caught five passes for 46 yards.
• Chad Barnes rushed for 44 yards on nine carries, while Peter Bakke and Tyler Lemons led the Davidson defense with 11 and 10 tackles, respectively.
Scouting the Red Foxes
• Quarterback Tommy Reilly leads the Red Fox offensive attack and has thrown for 1,707 yards and 12 TDs with just three interceptions.
• James LaMacchia has caught 57 passes for 607 yards and five scores. Michael Rios has 15 catches for 465 yards and four TDs.
• The Red Fox defense has 10 interceptions, and Nick Kaszei has two for 111 return yards.
• Rory Foley leads the defense with 74 tackles, and Tyler Ramsey has 68. Marist has 26 tackles for loss but just one sack.
Record Breakers
• With 2,551 career yards, senior Justin Williams has set a new Pioneer Football League mark for career kick return yardage. Williams came into the season as Davidson's all-time leader in kick return yards.
• He recorded 57 yards at Drake Oct. 23 to pass Justin Campbell (Butler, 2001-04) who posted 2,512 yards.
• Freshman Jonathan Carkhuff broke a 37-year-old record with 41 completions at Drake as well. He was 41-of-56 for 306 yards. He passed Dave Harper, who posted 37 completions against William & Mary in 1973.
• Carkhuff is the first Wildcat to pass for 300-plus yards since Ryan Alexander threw for 364 against Dayton in 2008.
Academic All-District
• Daniel Astrop, Mark Hanabury, Peter Kidwell and Morgan Popham have been named first-team ESPN Academic All-District III by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The quartet advances to the national ballot for ESPN Academic All-America honors.
• A senior linebacker, Astrop has started all eight games this season and is third on the team in tackles with 47 to go along with three tackles for loss, a sack, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery. The co-captain has started 18-straight games for the Wildcats and is 18 tackles away from reaching 200 for his career. Astrop has a 3.61 grade point average in economics.
• A senior receiver, Hanabury has 15 catches for 129 yards in five games of action as injuries kept him out of the first three contests this season. He carries a 3.39 grade point average in history.
• Kidwell earns the honor for the second straight season and has started all eight games in 2010. The junior defensive back is fourth on the team in tackles with 45 and has an interception, four pass breakups, a blocked kick and 4.5 tackles for loss. He owns a 3.47 grade point average in economics.
• Popham has started all eight games this season and has 34 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass breakup. The junior defensive lineman carries a 3.69 grade point average in sociology.
CFPA Watch List
• Junior John Behm has been named to the College Football Performance Award FCS Linebacker of the Year Midseason Watch List.
• Behm has started all eight games this season and has 49 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, three sacks, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
