Today's Game
• Davidson closes the 2009 season with a home contest against PFL opponent Marist Saturday.
• It's Senior Day, and Davidson will honor its 19 seniors prior to the game.
• Davidson will also present Dave Fagg, a Davidson graduate, former football coach, former radio color commentator and longtime Davidson fundraiser, the Hendrix Award at halftime. The award is presented annually to a Davidson football letterman who, by the use of lessons learned on the playing field, has gone on to achieve outstanding success in his chosen profession.
• Davidson is 11-6 in Richardson Stadium in its last 17, and 11-6 against PFL competition in its last 17 league games at home.
• The 'Cats own a 13-8 all-time mark in conference games at Richardson Stadium.
• The 'Cats are 15-14 in their last 29 PFL contests and own a 21-23 all-time PFL record.
• The Wildcats are allowing just 16.9 points and 284.5 total yards a game in seven league contests.
• Davidson is coming off a 34-27 victory at San Diego. It was the most points the Wildcats have scored in a game this season. Their 282 rushing yards was also a season high.
• Marist, in its first year in the PFL, is third in the league and has won its last five games and its last four conference contests.
• The Red Foxes are coming off a 23-21 home victory over Georgetown on a last-second field goal.

Series Record
• The Red Foxes posted a 24-19 victory in the first meeting between the schools, which took place last season at Richardson Stadium.
• Marist running back Bo Ehikioya rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns, and the Red Foxes held off a late-game rally by Davidson.
• With his team trailing by 12 points, Kirk Konert caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Alexander with 1:07 left on the clock. The Wildcats went for the onside kick but were whistled for touching the ball before it went 10 yards, and Marist ran out the clock to ice the game.
• Alexander completed 22-of-37 passes for 189 yards and two TDs.
• Konert finished the day with 40 yards on three receptions, and Myles Potter caught five passes for 46 yards.
Chad Barnes rushed for 44 yards on nine carries, while Peter Bakke and Tyler Lemons led the Davidson defense with 11 and 10 tackles, respectively.

PFL?Honors
• The Pioneer Football League named Davidson defensive back Peter Kidwell its Defensive Player of the Week Nov. 7, for his performance in the Wildcats' 34-27 victory at San Diego.
• Kidwell put the 'Cats on the scoreboard first when he picked off a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown. The sophomore also had four tackles, including two solo hits.
• Kidwell's three interceptions are tied for the second most in the PFL, and his 105 return yards off the picks rank first. It's the most interception return yards for a Wildcat since Jim Carney had 121 in 1999.
• The league named Davidson senior Alex Griswold its Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Wildcats' victory over Morehead State Oct. 10.
• Griswold had two sacks, three tackles for loss and two forced fumbles against the Eagles. The defensive lineman collected six total tackles, including five solo, and added a pass breakup.
• He has four forced fumbles this season, the most since Mark Wilkerson had four in 2003.

Two 'Cats Named Academic All-District
• Davidson football players Aaron Saltzman and Peter Kidwell have been named first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III in a vote conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
• The duo will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America Honors.
• Saltzman carries a 3.49 grade point average and is majoring in political science.
• Kidwell has a 3.33 grade point average.

No. 1,000
• The Wildcats played the 1,000th game in school history at San Diego Nov. 7.
• Davidson topped the Toreros 34-27.
• With 50 wins from 2000-09, the Wildcats have recorded more victories in this decade than any other in school history.

Claw Marks
• Davidson didn't commit a turnover at San Diego Nov. 7. It's the second game this season that the Wildcats have been turnover free (Jacksonville, Oct. 3).
• Running back Kenny Mantuo rushed for a career-high 147 yards against Butler Oct. 31. It was the first game in which he rushed for over 100 yards but Davidson lost. His 61-yard run in the third quarter was the longest since John Leverett ripped off a 71-yard gain in 2003.
• Defensive back Peter Kidwell has all three Davidson interceptions this season. His 105 INT return yards are the most since Jim Carney had 121 in 1999. His 30-yard INT return for touchdown was the first for a Wildcat since Matt Easton had a 25-yarder at Wingate in 2007.
• The Wildcats' six sacks against Drake Oct. 24, were the most in a game since Oct. 26, 2002, when they recorded seven in a 31-0 victory over Wesley.
• Eleven different Wildcats have been in on Davidson's 16 sacks this season.
• Davidson's 156.9 rushing yards a game ranks third in the PFL.
• The Wildcats allowed just 59 rushing yards against Morehead State Oct. 10. It was the least rushing yards Davidson has allowed since the 'Cats gave up minus 40 yards in a 24-21 home victory over Drake in 2007.
• Linebacker Tyler Lemons had nine tackles against Morehead State to give him 200 for his career. The senior now has 227.
Mark Hanabury had a career day at Jacksonville Oct. 3, catching nine passes for 146 yards and a touchdown. It was the most yards for a Davidson receiver since Kirk Konert had 153 against Dayton in 2008.
• With their 24-7 victory over Campbell Sept. 19, the 'Cats have now won their Pioneer Football League opener in six of the nine seasons they have been in the league.
• The 'Cats are 4-1 when either running back Kenny Mantuo or Justin Williams rushes for 100 yards or more.
• Junior quarterback Michael Blanchard rushed for a career-high 102 yards at San Diego. Blanchard has 443 rushing yards, the most for a Davidson quarterback since Tommy Dugan had 486 in 1998.
• Head coach Tripp Merritt is climbing the all-time victory list at Davidson. With 23 wins, he needs two more to move into the top-5.
• The Wildcats opened the 2009 home schedule with new red jerseys. The new look was a surprise to the team as they found them laid out by their lockers when they reported to the Richardson Stadium locker room on game day. Davidson is 1-1 with the red jerseys.
• Davidson's 56-0 loss at Elon was its worst since a 56-0 setback at San Diego in 2004. It was the first time the 'Cats were shut out since a 33-0 loss at VMI in the 2005 season opener.
• Davidson was shut out in its first two games of the 2009 campaign. It's the first time Davidson has not scored in consecutive games in the same season since the 1985 campaign, when the 'Cats lost 28-0 at James Madison and 15-0 to Penn the previous week. The 'Cats failed to score in three straight games that season as they lost 31-0 at The Citadel.
• It was the first time Davidson was held scoreless in consecutive contests since falling 23-0 to Georgetown in the last game of 2004 and opening the 2005 season with a 33-0 setback at VMI.
• The 'Cats have been shut out three times this season. It's the first campaign Davidson has been shut out three times since 1985, when opponents blanked the 'Cats in five games.
