Layup Line
• The Wildcats host Samford for the first time since 1993 when the Bulldogs travel to Belk Arena for a SoCon game Saturday.
• The Wildcats are in the midst of a stretch where they play six of eight games on the road. This is the lone home tilt.
• Davidson has won 32 straight Southern Conference regular-season games and 39 of its last 40 dating back to Feb. 25, 2006.
• The 'Cats are coming off a 79-75 conference victory at College of Charleston Monday night.
• Davidson has won seven of its last eight contests and is off to its best start since the 'Cats went 11-1 to open the 1969-70 campaign. That squad finished the season with a 22-5 record and a third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
• Head coach Bob McKillop, in his 20th season, needs one victory to reach 350 for his career.
• Davidson has a current 22-game winning streak in Belk Arena, including a 6-0 record this season. The 'Cats' last loss in the building was against Appalachian State Jan. 20, 2007.
• Overall, Davidson boasts a 198-58 (.770) record in Belk Arena, two wins away from its 200th victory in the facility.
• Davidson junior guard Stephen Curry needs 10 points to become the second Wildcat in school history to reach 2,000 career points. He needs 43 to pass Fred Hetzel and move into second on the school's all-time scoring list.
• Samford is in its first season in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs fell 66-59 at Georgia Southern in their first SoCon contest Dec. 6.
• Samford has won two of its last three and is coming off a 57-52 victory at McNeese State Tuesday.
• The Bulldogs are 1-5 on the road.

Series History
• Davidson leads the all-time series, which began in the 1992-93 campaign, 2-0.
• The Wildcats posted a 61-59 victory in the first meeting at Samford and earned a 78-51 win at Belk Arena the following season.
• Janko Narat led four Davidson scorers in double figures with 14 points to go along with 11 boards.
• Chris Alpert scored 10, Brandon Williams had 11, and Mark McGuire netted 10.
• Joey Davenport led the Bulldogs with 14 points.

Claw Marks
• The Wildcats dropped out of the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll Dec. 22, after being ranked for nine straight weeks, dating back to last season. Davidson cracked the Coaches' top-25 prior to its victory over Elon in the Southern Conference Championship March 10, 2008.
• Davidson has held its opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field in six of its last eight games.
Stephen Curry has hit the 20-point mark in 56 career games, the 30-point mark in 21 outings and the 40-point plateau five times. He owns the school record for career games with 40 or more and trails all-time leading scorer John Gerdy in games with 30 or more (24).
• Curry has moved past Derek Rucker into third on the Davidson all-time scoring list. He is 10 points away from 2,000.
• Curry has also moved past Greg Dunn and into 14th on the assist chart (275).
Andrew Lovedale has moved into 24th on the Davidson career rebounding list with 554 boards.
• Davidson set a school record with 25 steals against Guilford Nov. 14. Curry and Max Paulhus Gosselin combined for 17.
• The 'Cats' victory over NC?State Dec. 6 was their first against an ACC?school since defeating North Carolina 58-54 in Chapel Hill Nov. 20, 2001.
• Davidson is now 1-2 all-time in Time Warner Cable Arena with the losses coming to North Carolina and Duke last season and a win against NC?State this season.

'Cats Were Great in 2008
• Davidson posted a 34-3 record in the 2008 calendar year with losses coming against Kansas and Purdue and at Oklahoma, all ranked teams.
• The run began with a then national-best 25-game win streak, which ended in a loss to Kansas in the Midwest Regional final of the NCAA Tournament.
• A host of stars came out to see the Wildcats in person, including LeBron James (twice), Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Warren Sapp, Vince Carter and Darius Rucker (sang the national anthem at Charleston).
• The Wildcats drew a total attendance of 324,407 fans, including back-to-back crowds of 57,000-plus at Ford Field in Detroit. An average of 8,767 attended Davidson games in 2008.
