Wildcats fall to Gardner Webb

DAVIDSON, N.C. – No. 20 Gardner Webb outlasted a late comeback by the Davidson men's soccer team in the final 10 minute of play, claiming a 2-1 road victory Friday night at Alumni field.
Ayman Maadir scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the 86th minute off a ricocheted corner kick. Myles Culley and Brady McGlone provided assists on the play.
Robbie Lyons scored a first half goal for the Running Bulldogs in the 34th minute, followed by a 66th minute unassisted goal by Samson Kpardeh.
Gardner Webb outshot the Wildcats 13-8 and had an 8-4 advantage on shots on target.
Davidson keeper Lucas Beltran recorded a season-high six saves in the contest.
