WIldcats Drop Series Opener to Hawks

MERION STATION, Pa. — Aidan Duda's eighth-inning RBI-single propelled Saint Joseph's to a 6-5 series-opening win over Davidson in a battle of first-place Atlantic 10 teams Thursday afternoon.
With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 15-21 overall and 10-6 in the A-10.
Anthony Torreso's RBI-single helped Davidson tie the game at 5-all in the seventh, and the Wildcats got the potentially tying run to second in the ninth.
JD Woodall had a two-RBI single in the second, and Michael O'Shaughnessy's RBI-double pushed Davidson in front 3-2 in the third. Woodall and O'Shaughnessy finished with two hits apiece.
Starter Wilson Perkins threw six innings, allowing five hits and four earned runs and striking out four.

The series continues Friday at 3 p.m.
