DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson women's tennis team fell on its home courts to the Georgia Southern Eagles, 5-2, Saturday.Â
"It was a great match against a very good team," said head coach Susanne Depka. "We had a lot of chances and opportunities to take this match. We got better, were disciplined and made them earn every point. The team should hold their heads high. I don't think we have played this close versus this team since I have been here. I look forward to another week of practice where we can get better and bring it next weekend."
Daniela Porges and Kavya Patel paired up to earn the 'Cats lone doubles win on the day after battling from being down on the way to a 7-5 win in the No. 1 spot.Â
Both Patel and Porges went on to pull out ther singles matches as well with great discipline. Porges on the No. 3 court pushed three sets to take a 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 victory. Patel, in the No. 4 spot carried her momentum to a 6-2, 6-3 win of her own.Â
