• Spurred by a season-high 14 offensive boards and led by four double-digit scorers, Davidson topped rival Charlotte 75-71 in Tuesday night's Battle for the Hornets' Nest Trophy in Belk Arena.
• It's the Wildcats' third win in the last four series games and their ninth in the previous 12. And to get it, Davidson had to hold off a late surge from the 49ers, who had won the last two meetings on the Wildcats' home floor.
• Reed Bailey led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Bobby Durkin scored 14 and Connor Kochera added 11. Roberts Blums chipped in with a season-best 13 points.

• Fifth year transfer Zach Laput has been an impact player off the bench for the Wildcats this season, averaging 7.3 ppoints and 3.7 rebounds per game.
• Shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, the Bentley University graduate sealed the win over Charlotte with a 3-pointer from the right wing to push a two-point lead to five with 42.8 seconds left. That sequence came one possession after he secured his fifth offensive board of the night to set up Connor Kochera's insurance free throws.
