THE SERIES

LAST TIME OUT
Davidson (2-0) posted a convincing win over Virginia Lynchburg in a non-conference clash at Stephen B. Smith Field last Saturday, 45-7. The 38-point margin helped snap an eight-game streak of games decided by a touchdown or less for the 'Cats dating back to Valparaiso last season. Davidson forced their first turnovers of the season and made the Dragons pay for their mistakes as both senior Rayshawn McCall and freshman Jaden Pask returned interceptions for touchdowns. Junior Wesley Dugger found the end zone for the fifth straight game, while junior quarterbacks Tyler Phelps and Louis Colosimo each threw scoring strikes to Jalen Staples and Eli Turner Jr., respectively. Seniors Bryce Perry-Martin and Tony Collins each posted six tackles to lead the squad in the winning effort. Sophomore Coy Williams also crossed the goal line for the 'Cats, registering his first touchdown of the season.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan enters Saturday's game 0-1 following a season-opening loss to Urbana, 43-14. Jarret Northrop completed 16 of 35 passes for 192 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Wideout Devin Taylor was on the receiving end of seven Northrop passes including a 60-yard reception. John Merica led the Bobcat defense with a bruising 16 tackles, 10 of them solo efforts, and broke up a Blue Knight pass attempt.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
Wildcat senior cornerback Rayshawn McCall ran back an interception 46 yards for his first ever pick-six and stopped by to talk about that play and more in this edition of the Davidson Football Player Spotlight!
