RICHMOND, Va.  — Davidson suffered its first setback of the season when the Wildcats fell 7-0 in their Atlantic 10 opener at VCU Sunday afternoon.

Davidson fell to 4-1 on the season, while VCU moved to 3-2.

The lone win on the afternoon came from the doubles team of Gabrielle Centenari and Nicole Krykanov at No .3 when the duo took a 7-5 decision.

Megan Scholvinck and Elizabeth Truluck nearly pulled off a win, but fell at No. 1 in a 10-8 tie-breaker.

Seeing her personal-best nine-match singles win streak come to an end was Samantha Armas, who fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4. She fell to 4-1 on the season.

Also falling to 4-1 on the season was Alexandra Abele (6-1, 6-2) at No. 2 and Elizabeth Truluck at No. 5 singles (6-4, 6-2).Â
