DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson heads to Kansas City, Mo., for its final two Preseason Women's Basketball National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) games, first taking on UC Irvine Friday afternoon on the campus of University of Missouri-Kansas City at the Swinney Center. Depending on their outcome, the Wildcats will face either Portland State or Kansas City on Saturday.
Davidson (1-1) fell in the first round of the tournament last weekend, a 74-63 setback at Drexel despite a career-high 25 points from Katie Turner and shooting a season-best 47.7 percent as a team. This will the 'Cats first time facing all three of the teams the next two days.
QUICK HITS ...
•Davidson is in its 41st season and has collected 451 wins in program history.

•Junior Katie Turner scored a career-high 25 points and Davidson shot 47.7 percent from the field, but it was unable to overcome a big run by Drexel in falling 74-63 in the first round of the Preseason WNIT last Saturday afternoon.
•Drexel used a 21-7 run between the first and second quarters to go ahead 33-20 and Davidson had to play catchup the rest of the way.
•Sarah Donovan reached double figures with 14 points and added six rebounds, while Chloe Welch dropped in a personal-best 11 points. Cassidy Gould dished out a career-high 10 assists.
•Davidson finishing shooting at 21-of-44 overall and 7-of-15 from three-point range, while going 14-for-16 at the free-throw line.
IN-SEASON TOURNAMENTS ...
•Though the Wildcats are not playing for a tournament title, they have a record of 27-37 during in-season tournaments since the 1992-93 season.
•The Wildcats have won six in-season tournament titles, its most recent being at the 2015 UNCW Thanksgiving Tournament.
PRESEASON WNIT ...
•This is Davidson's fourth appearance in the preseason WNIT (1-4 record), last appearing in 2012-13 when it faced North Carolina (L, 59-70), Northern Illinois (L, 61-64) and Kennesaw State (W, 64-54).
RANDOM NOTES ...
•Davidson has three players averaging in double figures through the first two games, including Sarah Donovan who has a double-double (13.0 ppg/11 rpg).
•Katie Turner (17.0 ppg) and Suzi-Rose Deegan (10.0) are also scoring in double figures, while the Wildcats are shooting 44.2 percent as a team and averaging 64.5 points per game.
•Cassidy Gould's 10 assists at Drexel were the most since Chloe Johnson had that many vs. Rhode Island, Feb. 11, 2017. Prior to that, the last time came back on Dec. 29, 2010 by Barbara Sitton (11 vs. Princeton).
