ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Davidson got back in the winning column by finishing its weekend road trip with a 5-2 victory at UNC Ashleville Sunday afternoon in women's tennis.

After falling for the first time Friday at Tennessee, the Wildcats upped its record to 4-1 with the win and moved to 9-1 all-time vs. the Bulldogs.

Davidson started off by sweeping the doubles point for the first time this year. The duo of Ava Todd and Alexandra Abele kept their perfect season intact with a 7-5 win at No. 3 to move to 5-0. Also winning by the same score was Anna Catharine Feaster and Ally Sexton at No. 2, while the pair of Megan Scholvinck and Samantha Armas won their third on the season with a 6-2 victory at No. 1.

Scoring singles wins was Scholvinck, Feaster, Abele and Todd to secure the team win. Moving up to No. 1 for the first time this season, Scholvinck picked up a tough 7-6, 7-5 win to move her record to 4-1.

Also going to 4-1 on the season was Abele at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1 decision and Todd at No. 5, winning by the same score.

Feaster secured a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2 to round out the team scoring, running her season record to 3-2.

Davidson returns home for a 10 a.m. match against East Carolina, Feb. 11.
