Wildcat Tidbits
• Davidson will wrap up its brief homestand to begin the 2017-18 season with a 7 p.m. tip against in-state foe UNC Wilmington on Tuesday.
• In their opener, the Wildcats drilled a school and Atlantic 10-record 26 3-pointers, including 16 in the opening half to cruise past Charleston Southern, 110-62, Friday inside Belk Arena.
• The 'Cats, who shot 49.1 percent (26-53) from three-point range, were just two triples shy of the NCAA single-game record of 28 treys, set by Troy against George Mason on Dec. 10, 1994.
• In addition, Davidson handed out 29 assists on 35 fields, while committing just one turnover, also a school record.
• Sophomore Jon Axel Gudmundsson led four Wildcats in double figures with a career-high 24 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
• Backcourt mate Kellan Grady added 23 points, including seven 3-pointers in his first collegiate contest, while seniors Peyton Aldridge and Oskar Michelsen scored 18 points each.
• Michelsen matched his personal best with six 3-pointers, while Aldridge grabbed 8 boards of his own.
• The Wildcats' first 12 buckets came from downtown as they led by as many as 37 in the first 20 minutes of action, before going to the break up, 58-23. Davidson, which didn't make a two-point field goal until the 8:47 mark, shot 59.3 percent (16-27) from behind the arc in the period.

Scouting the Seahawks
• UNCW opened its 2017-18 campaign with a 105-81 win over North Carolina Wesleyan.
• Former North Carolina assistant C.B. McGrath is in his first season as head coach of the Seahawks.
• UNCW, the two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Champs, return just seven letterwinners and one starter from last year's team that went 29-6.

'Cats Picked 6th; Aldridge All-League
• Davidson was picked sixth in the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, while Peyton Aldridge was named preseason all-league for the second straight season.
• Last year's A-10 Tournament Champion, Rhode Island, was tabbed the favorites garnering 27 of 28 first-place votes, submitted by league head coaches and media members.
• St. Bonaventure, led by preseason all-conference selections Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley, received the other first-place nod and was picked second ahead of St. Joseph's, VCU, Dayton and the Wildcats.

• Peyton Aldridge and Rusty Reigel will serve as team captains for the 2017-18 season.
