BRONX, N.Y. – In addition to Jack Gibbs and Peyton Aldridge scoring 28 points each, Davidson drilled 17 3-pointers and handed out 23 assists on 26 baskets as the Wildcats cruised past Fordham on the road, 84-66, Saturday afternoon inside Rose Hill Gym.
Coming off a 32-point effort in Tuesday's win over Duquesne, Gibbs finished perfect from long range (5-5) and at the charity stripe (9-9), while dishing out 7 assists.
Aldridge went 10-of-17 from the floor, including six treys en route to his team-best 13th 20-point effort of the season.
Gibbs and Aldridge, the nation's second-highest scoring duo, have combined for 25 20-point outings.
As a team, Davidson (11-8, 4-4 A-10) shot 51.0 percent (26-51) overall, 58.6 percent (17-29) from long range and connected on 15-of-17 at the charity stripe.
Sparked by 14 straight points, Davidson used a 32-8 run to lead by as many as 22 in the first half before going to the break up, 40-23. During their game-changing spurt, the Wildcats held Fordham without a field goal for almost 8 minutes.
Gibbs led all players at the half with 17 points.
After the Rams cut the deficit to 58-47 with 9:59 to play, Davidson responded with 10 unanswered, highlighted by consecutive triples from Aldridge and KiShawn Pritchett. The Wildcats lead would grow to as many 25 late in the contest.
Joseph Chartouny paced four Fordham (9-12, 3-5 A-10) players in double figures with 21 points.
In just his fourth start of the season, Pritchett grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds to lead the 'Cats to a 30-26 edge on the glass.
