PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Peyton Aldridge scored 31 points and grabbed a personal-best 13 rebounds to lead Davidson past Saint Joseph's, 75-60, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Tuesday evening at Hagan Arena.
Aldridge, the conference's third leading scorer, finished 11-of-18 from the floor and connected on all seven of his free throws en route to his fourth career 30-point effort.
Like Aldridge, Jon Axel Gudmundsson played the entire 40 minutes and netted a season-high 14 points, while Will Magarity also added double figures with 13.
In addition to 20 first-half points from Aldridge on 7-of-7 shooting, Davidson (12-8, 5-4 A-10) used a 17-6 run to lead by as many as 17, before going to the break up, 41-31.
The Wildcats, who held a 40-37 edge on the glass, shot 49.1 percent, while limiting Saint Joseph's (10-11, 3-6 A-10) to just 34.4 percent.
Lamarr Kimble paced a pair of Hawks in double digits with 18 points.
After Saint Joseph's cut the deficit to 56-48 with 7:50 to play, the 'Cats responded with another spurt to put the game out of reach.
