DAVIDSON, N.C. – After Peyton Aldridge's 3-pointer put Davidson ahead with 4.8 seconds to play, Marcus Posley hit a jumper at the buzzer to lift St. Bonaventure over the Wildcats, 62-61, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Wednesday evening at Belk Arena.
In addition to hitting the game winner, Posley paced three Bonnies in double figures with a game-high 19 points. Youssou Ndoye recorded his 10th career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Dion Wright added 14 points.
After intermission, neither team led by more than four points in a game that featured five ties and eight lead changes.
Brian Sullivan and Tyler Kalinoski were the lone Wildcats in double digits with 17 and 13 points, respectively, while playing 40 minutes each. Kalinoski also had eight assists for Davidson (14-6, 5-4 A-10), which finished with 18 on 22 field goals.
The loss ended the Wildcats' 15-game home winning streak.
St. Bonaventure (12-8, 5-4 A-10) controlled the glass, 42-27, and finished with nine blocks, while shooting 42.9 percent.
Despite a sluggish start and trailing by as many as eight in the opening minutes, Davidson closed the half on a 15-5 spurt, highlighted by three treys, to take a 33-29 lead at the break.
The Wildcats, who are one of the nation's top shooting teams from long range, drilled 9-of-22 3-pointers, but shot just 39.3 percent overall.
Davidson will continue its three-game homestand with a 7 p.m. tip against Duquesne Saturday evening.
