DAVIDSON, N.C. – In addition to placing six players in double figures, Davidson torched the nets for 60.3 percent and knocked down 13 treys as the Wildcats cruised to a 95-69 victory over Duquesne Saturday evening at Belk Arena.
Brian Sullivan led the 'Cats with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including five 3-pointers. Peyton Aldridge finished with 19 points going 8-of-11 from the floor, while Tyler Kalinoski turned in an impressive showing with 16 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Jordan Barham added 12 points and the freshman duo of Jordan Watkins and Nathan Ekwu each scored a season-high 11.
Along with their best shooting performance of the 2014-15 campaign, the Wildcats handed out 22 assists on 38 field goals and held a 32-31 edge on the glass.
Davidson (15-6, 6-4 A-10), which drilled eight treys in the first half, led by 17 late in the period before going to the break up, 52-38.
Aldridge, who set the tone early for the Wildcats scoring seven of their first nine points, had 15 on 6-of-6 shooting in the first half.
After the Dukes cut the deficit to 12 early in the second half, Davidson responded with an 11-2 spurt to push the margin to 21 and put the game out of reach.
Desmond Ridenour paced Duquesne (7-14, 2-8 A-10) with 13 points off the bench.
The Dukes shot 45.2 percent overall, but went just 6-of-22 from behind the 3-point line.
Davidson will conclude its three-game homestand Wednesday evening with a 7 p.m. tip against George Mason.
