THE GAME
• The Wildcats search for their first win of the season when they host Valparaiso Saturday at 1 p.m. on Homecoming.
• Saturday's game will mark the 10th meeting between the two teams and Davidson leads the all-time series that dates back to 2000, 7-2. The Crusaders have won the meeting against Davidson, 27-13, last year.
• Despite a record-setting performance from WR William Morris, Davidson fell at Valparaiso, 27-13, in both teams' season finale last year. Morris broke the single-season receiving yards record with 10 catches for 122 yards to finish with 1,224 yards receiving for the season.
• Davidson is 27-55-6 (.310) all-time on Homecoming. The Wildcats last won on Homecoming on Nov. 12, 2011 versus Morehead State, 28-24.
ʉۢ The last Pioneer Football League win for the Wildcats came at Valparaiso on Nov. 10, 2012 where Davidson took a 28-27 overtime victory.
• This week's guest coach is Jill Lowe. Lowe enters her 14th year as a staff assistant at Davidson's Physical Plant and her husband of 30 years, Robbie, works in Davidson's athletic maintenance area.
 
QUICK SLANTS
• Davidson is coming off a 34-0 loss at Morehead State in both teams' Pioneer Football League opener last Saturday.
• The Wildcats are searching for their first PFL win since Nov. 10, 2012 when they defeated Valparaiso, 28-27, in overtime at Brown Field.
• Last season, the Wildcats finished the year 1-11 as they picked up their first win in 12 contests with a 56-0 victory of College of Faith to open the season.
• DB Ryan Felice leads the Davidson defense with 22 tackles, including 2.0 for a loss and one forced fumble in the first three games this season. Five other Wildcats have tallied 15 or more tackles so far this season.
• RB Jeffrey Keil leads the Davidson offense with 189 yards rushing on 44 attempts so far this season. The sophomore averages 63 yards per game and 4.3 per carry.

Jill Lowe has been selected to be Davidson's guest coach this Saturday against Valparaiso. Lowe enters her 14th year as a staff assistant at Davidson's Physical Plant.  She and her husband of 30 years, Robbie, who works in Davidson's athletic maintenance area, are big supporters of Davidson athletics and the football program would like to thank the Lowe family for their support.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats fell at Morehead State, 34-0, in both teams' PFL opener last Saturday at Jayne Stadium. QB Austin Gahafer led both teams with completing 19-of-35 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns, while QB John Cook led the Wildcats with 72 yards rushing on 13 attempts. Defensively, DB Ryan Felice led the team with eight tackles, all solo, with two for a loss and one breakup.
