• Davidson continues a three-game road trip as the Wildcats travel to Kansas City to take on 12th-ranked Kansas.
• The Wildcats are 16-6 in their last 22 games, dating back to last season. Davidson is coming off an 84-61 loss at county rival Charlotte Dec. 10.
• Davidson is coming off an eight-day break between games for exams.
• The Wildcats are off to their best start since the 2008-09 season, when they began the campaign 8-1.
• Davidson is 2-2 on the road this season.
• Tonight's game will be a homecoming for junior forward Clint Mann (Overland Park, Kan.) and freshman guard Tyler Kalinoski (Olathe, Kan.).
• Davidson returns seven of its top eight scorers and four starters from last season. Players who accounted for 81 percent of the team's scoring and 87 percent of the team's rebounding are back in uniform this year.
• JP Kuhlman and Jake Cohen were selected preseason All-SoCon by the league's coaches. Both players have been starters for the bulk of their careers.
• Kuhlman is 62 points away from 1,000 for his career, and Cohen is 74 points shy.
• The 'Cats, who have posted nine straight winning seasons, were picked to win the SoCon South Division in the league's Coaches and Media Polls.
• Davidson is 13-79 all-time when playing a ranked opponent (AP Poll) and has lost its last eight.
• Kansas enters the game riding a four-game win streak and is coming off a 78-67 home win over then No. 2/2 Ohio State.
• Both Jayhawk losses have come against opponents who were ranked sixth or higher at the time.
• Kansas is 5-0 at home this season. This is the Jayhawks' first game in the Sprint Center this season.
• Kansas returns one starter and eight lettermen from last year's 35-3 team. The Jayhawks were picked to win the Big 12 in the Coaches Preseason Poll.
Series History
• Tonight's game marks the second meeting between Davidson and Kansas.
• The first came in the Elite Eight round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament, a 59-57 Jayhawk victory en route to a national championship.
• Last Time: Davidson guard Jason Richards' 25-foot shot at the buzzer from the top of the key missed left, and Kansas came away with a 59-57 victory to advance to the Final Four.
• After Kansas' Sherron Collins missed with 19 seconds left, the 10th-seeded Wildcats got one last chance. Stephen Curry was double-teamed, could not get off a shot and forced to pass to Richards.
• The loss snapped Davidson's 25-game winning streak, longest in the nation.
• Curry, who became only the fourth player to hit the 30-point mark in his first four NCAA tournament games, finished with 25 on 9-of-25 shooting and was picked Most Outstanding Player of the Midwest Regional. Bryant Barr, was the only other Davidson player in double figures, scoring all 11 of his points in the second half.
• Brandon Rush scored eight of his 12 points in the second half, while Sasha Kaun and Mario Chalmers led the Jayhawks with 13 each.
