DAVIDSON, N.C. –
Cameron Rundles scored 22 points, including 20 in the first half, and Wofford survived a late Davidson run to post a 69-64 Southern Conference men's basketball victory in Belk Arena Saturday night.

JP Kuhlman led Davidson (8-9, 2-4 SoCon) with 14 points, and Nik Cochran added 11. Clint Mann scored nine, while Jake Cohen had eight points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. De'Mon Brooks and Brendan McKillop both scored eight.

Noah Dahlman added 13 points and seven boards for the Terriers (8-9, 5-1 SoCon), and Brad Loesing finished with nine points.

Trailing by eight with 1:22 to play, Davidson trimmed the lead to two points in the final minute but couldn't get over the hump, which was a microcosm of the entire game. Davidson began fouling to get back in the game with 1:27 left and climbed to within 64-62 on a Cochran 3-pointer with 46 seconds left.

The game plan then changed to trying to get a defensive stop and get the ball back with time left and a chance to tie or win. But with no timeouts left for Davidson, there was miscommunication between the bench and court, and the 'Cats fouled Brad Loesing with 35 seconds left. The junior hit both free throws, pushing the margin back to four.

After a Kuhlman layup, the Wildcats fouled with six seconds left. Martin went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line, leaving the score at 67-64. Davidson tried to run a play to go the length of the court and get a 3-pointer to tie, but Jamar Diggs got a steal and hit two free throws to seal the win.

Davidson fell behind by double digits midway through the first frame as Wofford used an 11-4 run, capped by a Dahlman jumper, to open a 25-14 cushion. From that point for the rest of the contest, it was punch, counter punch with Davidson getting to within one or two possessions of tying the score and the Terriers answering back.

Cohen hit four straight free throws in an 8-2 Davidson run as the Wildcats got to within two points at 29-27 with 51 seconds left in the first half. But Rundles scored five points in the last 31 seconds, and Wofford led 34-27 at the break.

Davidson trailed by just six points with 4:31 to play and got a defensive stop, but Kuhlman missed a layup, and McKillop's triple try rimmed out on the other end. Kevin Giltner nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to put the Terriers back on top by nine points with 3:08 left.

The 'Cats worked the margin back to five with 2:01 left, but Loesing answered with another big triple from the corner with the shot clock winding down on the Terriers' next possession.

The Wildcats open a two-game road trip at UNCG Monday, Jan. 17. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the Greensboro Coliseum.

Game Notes: It was Wofford's third straight win over Davidson, and the Terriers improved to 10-3 in Belk Arena… Cochran reached double figures in the scoring column for the third consecutive game… Brendan McKillop needs 13 3-pointers to move into the top-5 at Davidson for his career.
