Clamoring to See the 'Cats
• Davidson has developed quite a following this season as shown by its attendance numbers, especially on the road.
• The Wildcats game against West Virginia in Madison Square Garden Dec. 9 drew 14,675 fans. In comparison, the Duke-Michigan game at MSG in the 2K Classic Championship drew 12,543, and the Purdue-Oklahoma game in the NIT?Season Tipoff final drew 3,670.
• The 'Cats' game at College of Charleston Dec. 29 had a capacity crowd of 5,368, the most in the Carolina First Arena, which is in its first season.
• Davidson and Appalachian State set a record for the Mountaineers' Holmes Center, when 8,350 turned out for the game Jan. 12. That crowd topped the mark set when Appalachian opened the building against North Carolina in 2000.
• A crowd of 5,336 turned out to see the Wildcats at The Citadel Jan. 10. It was the 10th-largest crowd to see a game at McAlister Field House and the first time the attendance was over 5,000 in two years.
• Davidson has sold out its own building five times this season, and its remaining contests are sold out.
