Davidson Football Goes Back on the Road to Face Morehead State

Today's Game
• The Wildcats are back on the road to face Morehead State in a PFL contest.
• Davidson is 10-5 in its last 15 league games.
• The Wildcats enter the game with a 2-1 record, including a 1-1 mark on the road, and are coming off a 38-35 comeback victory over Jacksonville last Saturday.
• Davidson is 3-4 in its last seven road games.
• Morehead State enters the game with a 2-2 record and is coming off a 36-21 home win over Saint Francis (Pa.).
• The Eagles are 2-0 at home this season.
• This will be the first PFL?game for Morehead State.
• The Eagles finished third in the conference with a 5-2 record last year and were picked fourth in the Preseason Coaches Poll, three points behind Davidson. Morehead State garnered one first-place vote.

Series Record
• The Eagles lead the all-time series, which began in 1999, 6-3.
• Morehead State is 4-1 at home against Davidson, but lost the last game against the Wildcats at Jayne Stadium, when current kicking coach Brad Smith hit a game-winning field goal as time expired for the 27-24 win.
• The Eagles have won five of the last seven against Davidson overall.
• Brian Yost threw for 244 yards, and Nick Feldman caught nine passes for 141 yards as Morehead State handed Davidson its worst loss of the season, 49-21, in last year's contest.
• Feldman added a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown, and Rick Cornelius ran for two scores.
Ryan Alexander threw for 276 yards to lead Davidson but had three passes picked off.
Myles Potter caught five passes for 107 yards, and Kirk Konert recorded six receptions for 99 yards.
• The Eagles scored all six times they were in the Red Zone.

Scouting the Eagles
• It's going to be a chore to run the ball against Morehead State as the Eagles allow just 89.2 yards on the ground and have combined for 40 tackles for loss as a team. The Eagles have recorded 15 sacks in four games this season.
• Offensively, Morehead State makes the most of its Red Zone opportunities and have scored touchdowns 22 times on 32 trips inside the 20. The Eagles come away with points 81 percent of the time in the Red Zone.
• Evan Sawyer leads the offense with 659 passing yards and 130 markers on the ground.
• Nick Feldman leads the receiving corps with 12 catches for 230 yards and three TDs.
• Wes McDermott leads the defense with 37 tackles, including five for loss. Tony Bachman has six tackles for loss and a sack, while Andrew Doan has 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

PFL?Honors
• Kicker Ben Behrendt was named the PFL?Special Teams Player of the Week Monday.
• He kicked the game-winning field goal with 42.5 seconds left in the 'Cats 38-35 victory over Jacksonville.
• Behrendt was good on all five of his PATs, giving him eight points in the contest.
• Defensive lineman Daniel Hauffe was named the Pioneer Football League's Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' 20-16 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne Sept. 13.
• The junior posted a career-high 13 tackles, including five solo stops, and four were behind the line of scrimmage.
