Jeff Kniple was named Director of Athletic Development/Assistant Director of Athletics on April 6, 2023.
He will be responsible for leading all fundraising efforts supporting Davidson's 21 Division I athletic programs.
"We are thrilled to add Jeff's talents and leadership to our fundraising and engagement efforts," said Athletic Director Chris Clunie '06. "His deep understanding of Davidson's commitment to athletics and academics at the highest level, positions him well to work with supporters of Davidson's scholar-athletes. His presence on our senior leadership team will be helpful as we navigate the changing landscape of the NCAA."
From playing and coaching football while attending Cornell University to roles in admission, student life, career development and fundraising, Kniple brings to his new role a wealth of experience in higher education.
"I am excited to partner with coaches, scholar-athletes and supporters to help maximize the potential for Davidson Athletics," said Kniple. "We set the bar high for everything we do at Davidson, and our expectations for athletics deserve and require generous financial support to be successful."
For the past six years, he has worked with some of Davidson's most generous leadership supporters on key initiatives including The Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, baseball's Wilson Field and the soon-to-be-completed Game Changers Fieldhouse, a signature component of Davidson Athletics: The Next Step. In addition to graduating as a Meinig Family National Honors Scholar from Cornell, he holds a Master's Degree in Educational Policy, Planning and Administration from the University of Maryland.
