Dani Gariglio was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations at Davidson College in April 2025. She joined the Davidson Athletics staff in 2020 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and was promoted to Associate Director in July 2022, followed by Director of Creative Services in July 2024.
In her current role, Gariglio oversees the operation and coordination of Davidson’s brand new Game Changers FieldHouse and Davidson College Stadium, in addition to Carol Grotnes Belk Turf Field and Wilson Field. She also assists in sport oversight support for the Wildcats' lacrosse and field hockey programs.
Previously, Gariglio was responsible for the communication efforts for Davidson's men's basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse programs. In her time at Davidson, she also worked with women's basketball and both tennis programs. Gariglio oversaw media relations, content creation, and social media strategies, while also managing the athletic communications student-worker staff and the department’s main social media channels.
In 2022-23, Gariglio was nominated to College Sports Communicators’ inaugural 30 Under 30 class and was named Support Staff Member of the Year at the department’s annual end-of-year banquet. In January of 2025, she was named one of College Sports Communicators’ Rising Star Award winners.
Before joining Davidson, Gariglio spent two years as a graduate assistant in athletic communications at Concordia University Chicago, where she served as the primary media contact for soccer, lacrosse, and men’s basketball. She also spent one year as an assistant at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
Gariglio earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island in 2017, where she was a four-year starting center fielder and team captain for the softball team. She later earned her MBA from Concordia University Chicago in 2020.
A Long Island native, Gariglio currently lives in Davidson with her fiancée, Allison.
