Angelo Maltese joined the Davidson Marketing team as Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions in December, 2024.

In this role, Maltese oversees marketing, promotions and fan experience initiatives for the Wildcats’ men’s and women’s basketball programs, along with additional responsibilities.

Prior to Davidson, Maltese served as Championships, Events and Emerging Sports Associate with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in Charlotte. In this position, he was primarily responsible for NJCAA Division II sports and the administration and planning of national championship events across 21 sports. Additionally, he played a key role in introducing five emerging sports to the association: Women’s Flag Football, Competitive Cheerleading, Women’s Wrestling, Clay Target Shooting and Men’s Volleyball.

From 2019 to 2021, Maltese worked as the Facilities, Events and Operations Graduate Assistant with Western Illinois University Athletics. There, he managed scheduling and game operations for the Leathernecks' football, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball programs.

Maltese began his career in collegiate athletics as an intern with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Athletic Department in 2018, working with the Facilities, Events and Operations team. Since then, he has contributed to game operations at multiple NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments, as well as major conference tournaments. His professional experience extends to soccer, where he worked in marketing with the New York Red Bulls and in team operations with Saint Louis FC.

While a student at Seton Hall University, Maltese was a play-by-play radio broadcaster for men’s and women’s basketball on WSOU 89.5 FM. He called numerous significant matchups for the Pirates, including NCAA Tournament and Big East Tournament games. One of his favorite broadcasts was a 67-64 upset win over the then-ranked No. 16 South Carolina Gamecocks at Madison Square Garden in 2016.

A native of Union, N.J., Maltese earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast and visual media from Seton Hall in 2018 and a master’s degree in sport management from Western Illinois University in 2021.

In addition to supporting the Wildcats, he is an avid fan of the New York Red Bulls, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Raptors.
