2018 (Senior): Played in all 25 matches and in 86 sets • Tallied 131 kills and 1.52 kills per set with a .243 hitting percentage • Ranked third on the team with 40 blocks • Had season-highs of 10 kills and five blocks at Rhode Island (10/21) • Had at least seven kills in 10 matches and had four digs in three matches.
2017 (Junior): Played and started all 27 matches and all 109 sets… named the MVP of the William & Mary Invitational…ranked in the top 5 in the league in hitting percentage for most of the season… recorded a career best .611 hitting percentage against Wofford (9/09) where she turned in 12 kills… registered career-best 13 kills on the road at La Salle (11/05)… recorded 11 matches with an above .300 hitting percentage… finished the year second on the team with 224 kills at a .284 clip, also tallied 54 total blocks.
2016 (Sophomore): Appeared in 21 matches, making four starts… recorded a career-high nine kills vs. Charlotte (10/11) where she hit .438… Turned in a career-best .750 hitting efficiency vs. William & Mary (9/17)… turned in eight matches with a hitting percentage of .400 or better… finished season with 47 kills, two aces, 10 blocks, and 32 digs.
2015 (Freshman): Saw action in 15 sets as a freshman, averaging 0.67 kills per set and 0.20 digs per set … Opened the season up with a kill at High Point (Sept. 11) … Registered a block against George Washington (Oct. 4) … Turned in five kills to go along with a .300 hitting percentage and a dig against North Carolina A&T (Oct. 13) … Had a kill at Dayton (Oct. 16) … Recorded a kill and a dig versus La Salle (Oct. 25).
Before Davidson: A local product of Charlotte Country Day ... A two-time NCISAA State Player of the Year ... Garnered all-conference status three times before earning all-state accolades as a junior ... As a junior, was tabbed the Charlotte Observe Player of the Year and the Mecklenburg County Player of the Year ... In her final campaign, Franz hauled in Under Armor All-American honorable mention ... A member of the National Honor Society and the Big Brothers and Big Sister program.
Personal: Her parents are both 1984 graduates of Davidson College. Her mother played field hockey while her father played basketball.
