Bio
The Book on Halbersleben: Mandy made great strides during her sophomore campaign and is expect to provide valuable depth off the bench. She brings a physical presence in the paint and is very scrappy on defense, hustling for every loose ball.
2008-09 Highlights:
•Given the team's Leadership Award in final campaign.
•Named to the All-SoCon Academic Team along with Alex Thompson.
•Had a career senior season, recording personal bests in nearly every offensive and defensive categories, including averaging career highs in points and rebounds.
•Started a career-high 27 of 29 games.
•First game back after missing final 11 games a season ago, scored six points and added four rebounds in a season-opening win over Winthrop .
•Picked up one the ‘Cats three blocks, while adding six points and four boards in an 84-66 win over Western Carolina at home, Dec. 14.
•In return trip back home to Ohio, the senior forward combined for five points, 11 rebounds and four assists against Xavier and Cincinnati, Dec. 19-21.
•Tallied her first career double-double with a season-best 12 points to go along with 10 rebounds in guiding the ‘Cats to a 72-58 win over Elon, Jan. 3.
•Hit the tying free throw with 5.1 seconds left in regulation at UNC Greensboro, Jan. 5, to help force overtime. Filled the stats sheet with eight points and eight rebounds, and then dished out a new personal-best six dimes in the winning effort over the Spartans.
•Recorded her second career double-double at Wofford, Jan. 31, with a career-high 14 points to go along with 10 rebounds to give Davidson two players with double-doubles in a game for the third time this year.
•Had a stretch of three games vs. UNC Greensboro, Chattanooga and Samford, scoring a combined 30 points, hitting double figures in each game, and hauling in 19 rebounds.
•Finished regular season with eight points and six boards at Furman, Feb. 28. It was the 14th time hauling in at least six or more rebounds in a game.
2007-08 Highlights:
•Forced to miss the final 11 regular season games due to an injury.
•Earned first collegiate start on Jan. 12 and responded with four points, six rebounds and two steals in a season-high 22 minutes of action vs. ASU.
•Had a stellar game against No. 15 Auburn, setting season highs in field goals made (5), attempts (12), defensive rebounds (4), assists (3) and points (10).
•One of four Wildcats to haul in five rebounds at Georgia on Dec. 9
•Turned in a perfect afternoon by hitting her lone field goal and both free throws in Wildcats' 59-42 win over Georgia State in the championship game of the Carolina First Classic, Nov. 17.
2006-07 Highlights:
•Played a season-high 20 minutes against Montana, while registering first career block.
•Equalled a career high in rebounds (6) in an 88-40 win over Emory, Dec. 2.
•In a two-minute span of the second half vs. Furman, scored all seven of her points on 3-of-3 shooting, including a free throw in helping the ‘Cats to a 75-55 win.
•Dropped in a career-high 12 points on a career-best 6-of-7 shooting vs. Chattanooga on Jan. 8.
•Had a perfect game at Georgia Southern on Jan. 13 with a 2-for-2 performance from the floor and charity stripe for six points to go along with four boards, and a career high of three steals.
•In 18 minutes of action at Elon on Jan. 16, scored 11 of the Wildcats’ 17 bench points on 5-of-6 shooting in a 68-49 SoCon road win.
•Had an 11-game stretch in which she recorded at least two rebounds in a game.
•In Wildcats’ first postseason appearance, the sophomore scored six points and had three rebounds in just seven minutes of action.
2005-06 Highlights:
•Provided valuable minutes in the Wildcats’ 67-52 win at Georgia Southern by scoring five points along with four rebounds off the bench and filling in for a foul-strapped Janell Crayton.
•Pulled down at least two or more rebounds 16 times.
•Pulled down a season-best six boards to go along with five points in the Wildcats’ first win of the season over Oglethorpe on Nov. 29.
•Made a splash in her collegiate debut, netting nine points and grabbing four rebounds in 21 minutes against the then sixth-ranked team in the country, North Carolina, on Nov. 18.
High School Notes:
•Earned Athlete of the Year accolades from Kings High School after lettering in basketball, soccer and track all four years as a prepster.
•On the basketball court, Halbersleben was a first-team all-league selection three times, while being tabbed the Fort Ancient Valley Conference’s Player of the Year in 2004.
•The 1,000-point scorer also earned second-team all-conference track accolades every year at Kings and tallied first-team all-league honors in soccer as a senior.
•Was a member of the National Honor Society, student government and German Club.
•Came away with the prestigious Anthony Muñoz Foundation Scholar-Athlete of the Year award during the spring of her senior year.
