2013-14: Competed in all nine tournaments… recorded a career-low 74.67 stroke average… charted a 73.4 stroke average during the fall campaign… posted seven rounds of par or better, including five straight during the fall season… carded a 54-hole total of 203 (67-66-70) to finish a career-best third at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate… also tallied Top-15 showings at the Firestone Invitational and SoCon Championship.
2012-13: Competed in a career-best eight tournaments as a sophomore… named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team after posting a 54-hole score of 217 (+1)… led the Wildcats to their best finish in 40 years at the SoCon Tournament with a second-place showing… finished the season with a 76.40 stroke average… also helped Davidson to team titles at the Waterville Collegiate Classic and Davidson College Invitational with Top-15 finishes.
2011-12: Competed in eight of Davidson’s 10 tournaments as a freshman… finished fourth on the team with a 76.04 stroke average… recorded back-to-back sub-par rounds of 70 and 71 to place a season-best tied for 23rd at the Invitational at the Ocean Course.
Before Davidson: Ranked sixth in the state of North Carolina by Carolinas Junior Golf … named to the North Carolina All-State team three times and won the individual state championship in 2011 … led the Trinity School of Durham to two NCISAA State Championships (2010 & 2011) … first Trinity School student to sign a National Letter of Intent … top-ranked 2011 graduating golfer in the Tarheel Youth Golf Association … won the 2011 New Brunswick (Canada) Junior Championship … was the TYGA State champion and the Mid Pines Junior champion in 2010 … placed second at the 2010 NCISAA State 1A High School Championship and ninth at the American Junior Golf Association Charles Howell Junior Championship … named to the 2011 AJGA HP Scholastic Honor Roll.
Personal: Son of Tim and Sue Eckstein … has two siblings, Tyler and Anna … father, Tim, was also his high school coach and played professionally … mother, Sue, played golf at Duke and professionally … majoring in political science.
