Wildcats Finish Second at River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Led by three Top-15 individual showings, the Davidson men's golf team finished second at its home tournament, the River Run Collegiate.
After a one-year hiatus due to course renovations, the 10th edition of the Wildcats' event returned to the 7,268-yard, Par 72 layout.
Griffin Cheatwood, who led for a portion of the final round, was Davidson's top finisher for the second straight tournament finishing tied for eighth at even-par 216.
The freshman was followed by Nate Faulkner (+1 | T-10), Davis Sayman (+4 | T-15) and Clayton Couey (+5 | T-18).
Sayman, who chipped in on his final hole this afternoon, was the low Wildcat Tuesday with a one-under 71.
Davidson (+5), which entered the final day just three strokes off the pace, took over the team lead early on the front nine, but was unable to hold on eventually falling by one shot to Presbyterian (+6).
The Blue Hose's Spence Hagood (-6) claimed individual medalist with a 54-hole total of six-under 210.
